STAGE 3a WATER RESTRICTIONS

The Melbourne region has experienced the driest winter and spring on record, holding off much needed rain in water catchment areas. Due to very low water levels Stage 3a water restrictions are now in force and apply to the Mornington Peninsula. Under stage 3a it is prohibited to water your lawns, and cars can only be washed using a bucket or at a commercial car wash. Below are explanations of the restrictions that affect you.

WATERING TIMES (applicable from 1 Apr 07)

LAWNS The watering of lawns is prohibited for any residential,
commercial or local council properties.
GARDENS
Hoses with trigger nozel, bucket or watering can.

VEHICLE WASHING Hoses and high pressure cleaners can not be used for cleaning vehicles. A bucket of water filled directly from a tap may be used to wash windows, mirrors and lights. Other parts of the vehicle may only be 'spot washed' to remove corrosive materials.
POOLS & SPA'S Existing Pools and Spa's of less than 2000 litres capacity may only be topped up with a bucket or watering can. If you want to fill an existing pool, contact South East Water on 131 867 for information.

New Pools and Spa's can not be filled during stage 3 restrictions.
* There are no restrictions for the use of grey or trapped rain water.
* Penalties and prosecution may arise for breach of these restrictions.
* Unnumbered Property must abide by restrictions relating to 'Even Numbered Property'
